Yobly Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Yobly when you use our website and marketplace to find or offer local services across Canada.
This is a plain-language agreement written to be easy to read. Last updated: August 21, 2026
Section 1 · The marketplace
What Yobly Is
Yobly is an online marketplace that connects customers who need local services with independent professionals (“pros”) who offer them. Yobly is operated by Bumin Studios, mailing address 32 Bliss St, Brampton, ON L6P 3G4, Canada.
- We are an intermediary, not the service provider. Pros are independent businesses, not employees or agents of Yobly. We do not perform the services, supervise the work, or guarantee any outcome.
- We provide the tools — job posting, AI matching, messaging, quotes, escrow-held payments, and reviews — that let customers and pros transact with more trust.
- The contract for the actual service is between the customer and the pro. Yobly is not a party to it.
Section 2 · Your account
Accounts & Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract to use Yobly.
- Give accurate information when you sign up and keep it current. You are responsible for everything that happens under your account.
- Keep your login secure. Do not share your password. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
- You can sign in with email or a linked Google account. One person or business, one account, unless we agree otherwise.
Section 3 · Posting & quoting
Jobs & Quotes
- Posting a job is free. Describe the work honestly and include only what you are comfortable sharing — job details are visible to pros who may quote.
- A quote from a pro is an offer. Booking happens when you accept a quote and fund it. Until then, nothing is binding.
- Prices, timing, and scope are set between you and the pro. Read a quote carefully before accepting it.
- Keep job communication on Yobly. It protects both sides and lets us help if something goes wrong.
Section 4 · Money
Payments, Escrow & Fees
Payments are processed by our payment partner (Stripe). Yobly does not store your full card details.
- Escrow protection. When you fund a job, the money is held securely and released to the pro after the work is completed and approved, or after the automatic release window if there is no dispute.
- Pros may use credits to quote on jobs, and service or subscription fees may apply to pros. Any fees that apply to you are shown before you confirm.
- Applicable taxes (such as GST/HST/PST) are added where required.
- Pay through Yobly. Arranging cash or off-platform payment to avoid fees removes your escrow protection and violates these terms.
Section 5 · Changes of plan
Cancellations & Refunds
- Before work begins, a funded job can be cancelled and the escrow-held amount returned, subject to any cancellation terms shown at booking.
- If a job is only partly done or there is a disagreement, use the dispute process below before the escrow releases.
- Refund timing depends on your bank or card issuer once we release the funds.
- Detailed cancellation-fee percentages are being finalized and will be shown at booking before you confirm.
Section 6 · What you post
Reviews & Content
- Reviews must be honest and based on a real experience. No fake, bought, traded, or retaliatory reviews.
- Do not post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, deceptive, or infringes someone else's rights.
- You keep ownership of what you post, but you give Yobly a licence to host and display it so the marketplace can work (for example, showing your review on a pro's profile).
- We may remove content that breaks these terms or the law.
Section 7 · Automation
AI Features
- Yobly uses AI to help structure your job description, match you with suitable pros, and support messaging moderation.
- AI output is a helpful starting point, not professional advice. Always review it before you rely on it.
- Your data stays in Canada. We process AI requests through providers configured to keep data within Canada and not to train their models on it. See our Privacy Policy.
Section 8 · The rules
Acceptable Use
Do not use Yobly to:
- Break the law, defraud anyone, or facilitate unsafe or unlicensed work.
- Harass, threaten, or discriminate against anyone (see our accessibility and human-rights commitments in the Provider Terms).
- Scrape, hack, overload, or reverse-engineer the platform, or misuse other people's personal information.
- Circumvent Yobly to avoid fees, or manipulate quotes, reviews, or matching.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
Section 9 · The legal part
Disclaimers & Liability
- Yobly is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it reliable but we do not guarantee it will always be available, error-free, or that any pro will meet your expectations.
- Pros are responsible for their own work. Yobly is not liable for the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of services arranged through the marketplace.
- To the fullest extent permitted by law, Yobly's total liability to you for any claim is limited to the fees you paid to Yobly for the transaction in question.
- Nothing here limits rights you have under applicable consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
Section 10 · If something goes wrong
Disputes & Governing Law
- If you have a problem with a pro (or a customer), open a dispute on Yobly before the escrow releases so we can help review it.
- For problems with Yobly itself, contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly and directly.
- These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
Section 11 · Updates
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms as Yobly grows or the law changes. When we make a material change, we will update the “last updated” date and, where appropriate, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Yobly after a change means you accept the updated terms.
